This virtual breathwork circle is a safe, non-judgmental space for airing out and processing "birth stuff” that accumulates in the mind, heart and body of people working with folks in and around the time of pregnancy. Breathwork is an efficient and effective way of connecting with your body, discharging stuck emotions, and gaining clarity about your goals. Doulas, midwives, lactation professionals, therapists and maternity care providers are welcome to join.
As a birth worker, what you see, hear and feel matters because, as empathetic social beings, we are neurologically wired to "try on" the client experiences we witness. Anyone working in reproductive health needs to engage in self-care with attention to the emotional, physical, and spiritual costs of this work. Addressing the unpredictable and unavoidable medical complications, human rights violations, and "booby traps" against breastfeeding and postpartum bonding helps you avoid burnout and maintain a spark for your role in improving maternity care.
But birth drama aside... this work is exhausting! It takes time away from being with your family and for solo-prenouers can be quite lonely. Join the group, fill your cup and sip alongside other birth workers who get where your'e coming from.
THIS GROUP IS NOT EDUCATIONAL OR INSTRUCTIONAL. I am not here to tell you how to do your thing. The group will open with a meditation on the intention to nourish you work in this field. Then you will lay down and breath for about 30 minutes. You will complete the circle feeling connected to the birth community and rejuvenated in with purpose and passion.
Upon completing the purchase, you will receive a confirmation email. A few days before the event, you will receive a URL link to join the group. If you cannot join the group, you will be sent a link to a recording of the healing circle. Please make sure to create a space where you can be uninterrupted and lay down for the breathing portion. An eye pillow is useful if you have one.
See you there!
Sunday, November 26th 7-9pm @ Maha Rose
This circle is for those who are ready to nurture a broken heart or create completion around an ending. Deterioration of relationships with lovers, parents, children, institutions, and even religions destabilize the core of our identity and bring our value and worth into question, replacing trust in ourselves and others with doubt and cynicism. This group is a safe space for expressing and processing emotions like grief, resentment and anger that keep you from moving forward. These aspects of the self, although uncomfortable, are your pathway to healing and understanding. By bravely calling them forward, you can return to trusting yourself and your heart.
Breathwork is an active meditation that gives you the power to heal spontaneously and authentically. By going deep into the body, we are able to go beyond the constructs we use to tell the story about who we are or why we are in pain. We set ourselves free by going to the source of the discomfort and validating its existence.
The group begins with a sharing circle where attendees can state their intention. A guided meditation opens up internal space and relaxes the body, followed by breathwork aimed at reclaiming your power and birthright to equal exchange in all relationships. The circle closes with a blessing for our healing and the healing of others. You will leave this circle feeling grounded in the present with new embodied knowledge about creating equal exchange in your relationships.

Friday, March 9th 7-9pm at Maha Rose
Each person has a rich and complex history with their mother/birthing parent and primary caregivers that can, like a magical breadcrumb trail, guide them towards expansive healing at incredible depths for the personal and the collective. It begins in the womb, where spirit weaves itself into the psychobiological narrative of Who I Am, as circulatory, nervous and digestive systems develop in communication with the mother or birthing parent's body. During formative years with parents and caregivers, these pathways organize into the infrastructure from which emotions, beliefs, and behaviors emerge over the lifetime. Although persistent, these structures are not set in stone and can be accessed through the breath and body.
"The mother-child relationship can be seen as the first relationship violated by patriarchy.“ - Adrienne Rich
Breathwork healing circle will guide attendees into a deeper understanding of how present day challenges connect to the ways systems of oppression fundamentally undermine mother/birthing parent and caregiving relationships. The impact of these relationships manifests itself in many ways, including issues related to difficulty occupying space, self-confidence, fear of rejection and abandonment, and imposter syndrome. This healing circle is also beneficial for anyone who works with pregnant people, parents or children, and could use help releasing the energy of their clients.
Breathwork is an active meditation that gives you the power to spontaneously and authentically heal the most painful areas of your life. By going deep into the body, you are able to go beyond the constructs that distract from understanding the energies and histories that allow trouble states to persist. By witnessing your shadow with love and compassion, you can integrate the wisdom this side has to offer and reclaim autonomy in your life path.
The group will begin with a sharing circle where attendees can state their intention. A guided meditation will open up internal space and relax the body, followed by guided breathwork. We will close with a blessing for our healing and the healing of others. You will leave this workshop feeling connected to your personal power and spirit.

The Childbearing Year in a Day WorkshopOctober 13 | Düsseldorf, Germany
What does the childbearing year look like? And how can we honor the beginning of our journeys by preparing ourselves through knowledge, wisdom and intuition that helps make us feel confident and empowered in our choices? Join us - Samantha Moody, Annabell Makowski and Kaity Fox for this special one day workshop where will be delving into ideas and options in how we approach fertility, birth and the critical postpartum period, learning the importance of holistic nutrition and health in making sure our bodies are properly supported and sustained, and in taking part in a special Breathwork circle to help connect with our emotional bodies and selves.
With information comes true options and the ability to dismantle fear. Doula Kaity Fox will introduce the workshop by exploring the decisions and choices you face as you approach your antenatal care, prior to pregnancy right through to the delicate wochenbett period. You will be provided with unbiased and non-judgemental insight as we discuss ways to assess and cultivate your own preferences, with the idea of enabling all attendees to feel satisfied and self assured in their own pilgrimage into parenthood.
What does the female body need to be healthy, powerful and balanced? As a holistic Health Coach (IHK) Annabell Makowski focuses on nutrition and healthy lifestyle. She will guide us through which nourishing foods are universal and how they can be incorporated into everyday life individually to support our bodies during this unique time and transition. Together we will prepare a light organic lunch full of plant power that supports female energy and fertility.
Lastly, Samantha Moody will facilitate Breathwork for the Childbearing Year. This circle will help you connect you with your emotional body, to cultivate a feeling of preparedness and confidence at any stage of the childbearing year. Even if you’re not pregnant yet, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn a practice that will support you preconception through postpartum. Breathwork is an active meditation that supports spontaneous healing and growth. The group will begin with an introduction to breathwork and a discussion on how the emotional body influences the childbearing year. Then we will open the circle for attendees to share their intention, if they wish to do so. After the breathing portion, Samantha will provide additional tools and strategies for perinatal emotional hygiene as well as answer any questions attendees may have.
Mother Wound Healing Circle at Grand St. Healing
The way you were mothered touches every part of who you are today. Despite its importance, motherhood is deeply compromised by social, economic, and political systems of oppression. If you are a mother, the burden of this reality is not news. And if you are a birth worker, you’ve witnessed the ambivalence and confusion that comes with bringing a child into this world.
This healing circle is for clearing the mother wound; the part of you that knows things could be different for all the mothers and their children. The impact of the mother wound manifests itself in many ways, including issues related to difficulty occupying space and using your voice, issues with self-confidence, fear of rejection and abandonment, seeking external approval, and imposter syndrome.
At the beginning of the circle, I will speak a little about the meaning and intention behind this group. Then we will use breathwork to connect with the trauma and pain that circulates through the emotional body. Breathwork is an active meditation that allows you to spontaneously attain new information about yourself and your circumstances. Nothing is forced. The healing that happens during breathwork reflects the healing you are ready to receive. You will complete this experience feeling a significant shift in your emotional body and a greater connection to self-love.
