This virtual breathwork circle is a safe, non-judgmental space for airing out and processing "birth stuff” that accumulates in the mind, heart and body of people working with folks in and around the time of pregnancy. Doulas (birth, abortion, postpartum), midwives, lactation professionals, therapists and maternity care providers are welcome to join!
As a birth worker, what you see, hear and feel matters because, as empathetic social beings, we are neurologically wired to "try on" the experience we are viewing. Anyone standing witness to reproductive life needs to engage in self-care with attention to the emotional, physical, and spiritual costs of this work. Addressing the unpredictable and unavoidable medical complications, human rights violations, and "booby traps" against breastfeeding and postpartum bonding helps you avoid burnout and maintain a spark for your role in improving maternity care.
Breathwork is an efficient and effective way of connecting with your body, where the imprint of client experiences are stored. By connecting with the body, you are able to deeply release and heal. Breath generates energy that opens us to new awareness and strategies, so that we may celebrate the humbling power of this work while staying alert to our commitment to promoting respectful maternity care for our clients, friends, sisters, and mothers. You will complete the circle feeling connected to the birth community and rejuvenated in with purpose and passion.

Each person has a rich and complex history with their mother/birthing parent and primary caregivers that can, like a magical breadcrumb trail, guide them towards expansive healing at incredible depths for the personal and the collective. It begins in the womb, where spirit weaves itself into the psychobiological narrative of Who I Am, as circulatory, nervous and digestive systems develop in communication with the mother or birthing parent's body. During formative years with parents and caregivers, these pathways organize into the infrastructure from which emotions, beliefs, and behaviors emerge over the lifetime. Although persistent, these structures are not set in stone and can be accessed through the breath and body.

Breathwork healing circle will guide attendees into a deeper understanding of how present day challenges connect to the ways systems of oppression fundamentally undermine mother/birthing parent and caregiving relationships. The impact of these relationships manifests itself in many ways, including issues related to difficulty occupying space, self-confidence, fear of rejection and abandonment, and imposter syndrome. This healing circle is also beneficial for anyone who works with pregnant people, parents or children, and could use help releasing the energy of their clients.
Breathwork is an active meditation that gives you the power to spontaneously and authentically heal the most painful areas of your life. By going deep into the body, you are able to go beyond the constructs that distract from understanding the energies and histories that allow trouble states to persist. By witnessing your shadow with love and compassion, you can integrate the wisdom this side has to offer and reclaim autonomy in your life path.
The group will begin with a sharing circle where attendees can state their intention. A guided meditation will open up internal space and relax the body, followed by guided breathwork. We will close with a blessing for our healing and the healing of others. You will leave this workshop feeling connected to your personal power and spirit.

This circle is for those who are ready to nurture a broken heart or create completion around an ending. Deterioration of relationships with lovers, parents, children, institutions, and even religions destabilize the core of our identity and bring our value and worth into question, replacing trust in ourselves and others with doubt and cynicism. This group is a safe space for expressing and processing emotions like grief, resentment and anger that keep you from moving forward. These aspects of the self, although uncomfortable, are your pathway to healing and understanding. By bravely calling them forward, you can return to trusting yourself and your heart.

We set ourselves free by going to the source of the discomfort and validating its existence.

The circle closes with a blessing for our healing and the healing of others. You will leave this circle feeling grounded in the present with new embodied knowledge about creating equal exchange in your relationships.
